HI, I have an interior door of size approx. 5.6*7(Central pivot) . I want a high gloss finish , almost like glass. What wood (light weight)and finish would you suggest for this? I dont want laminate as the joint will be visible. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the reply. With PU, the joint wont be visible, is it? And what material can I use? Thought plywood will be too heavy and other light weight wood will bend.

Block board based doors are available in the market, you may lay a veneer sheet on top and polish with PU. Nowadays readymade doors in glossy membrane finish/ pre veneered finish are also available - these may work out cheaper. Check out http://www.centurydoors.in//image/681131454_b_stand_stare.pdf. Other brands (apart from Century) too have similar offerings. Suggest you visit your closest plywood vendor and get a first hand view of what is available.
